OsmoLite - an effective and advanced carbohydrate preparation
Osmolarity is simplified: a measure of the number of molecules per liter of liquid and stated as a unit: osm / liter. If, for example, a sugar solution has 1 osm / l, it means that there is 1 mol of sugar molecules per liter of liquid, which is about 6000... (23 zeros ) pieces, which corresponds to approx. 324g of sugar / liter. An important characteristic that separates different types of carbohydrates from each other is how many grams of carbohydrates can fit in the mixture, without the osmolarity getting too high. If the osmolarity is too high, it leads to poor absorption and delayed gastric emptying.

The osmolality of the OsmoLite supplement is 0.223 osm/kg (H2O), so OsmoLite is clearly lower in osmolality than maltodextrin, which varies, depending on the source, from 280-330 osm/kg. An isotonic drink made with 500ml of water has an osmolality of approx. 300 osm/kg.
